The Yankees traveled north to Fenway for the first time this year to faceoff with the Red Sox

The series opener started solidly with a tense win. Gerrit Cole was beaten twice by Rafael Devers but otherwise shared Boston’s lineup, and Josh Donaldson led offensively with a grand slam. The bullpen closed the door and the bombers got victory number 60. Pretty good if you ask me. They will now look to at least secure a split in the four-game set and prepare for another series win with Nestor Cortes on the mound.

Before that begins though, let John update you with relevant promotions You might have missed the league last night. Chris then examines AL’s MVP field and who has the best chance of challenging Aaron Judge for the title, while Erin views the Miami Marlins as potential business partners. Later, Andres highlights Anthony Volpe’s hot spell at Double-A Somerset, Peter wonders if Clay Holmes’ improvement methods might apply to Albert Abreu and I’ll be around to answer the post.
