For the last two seasons, Aaron Boone has mercilessly been roasted by Yankees fans on social media. But this took a different turn on June 14. For the first time, Yankees fans on Twitter felt good and found the New York Yankees manager entertaining.
However, this was not related to the Yankees’ on-field MLB performance.
During a recent appearance on the Talkin’ Yanks podcast, Aaron Boone grabbed the interest of MLB fans with his unique seating arrangement. Prior to Tuesday’s game against the New York Mets, Boone was seen sitting on the floor with his legs crossed as he conducted the interview.
Despite the absence of captain Aaron Judge due to injury, the Yankees pulled off a close 7-6 victory against the Mets on Tuesday, providing a glimmer of hope for the team. The offense showcased its prowess, with each of the seven runs scored by a different player, highlighting the collective effort of the lineup. This performance is one that manager Aaron Boone can take pride in, especially in light of the ongoing online mockery he has faced for his recent interview.
Fans find Aaron Boone’s sitting comical
MLB fans couldn’t help but chuckle at the relaxed posture and demeanor displayed by Aaron Boone during the interview, deeming it one of the most amusing Yankees moments in recent memory.
Despite facing criticism from fans on multiple occasions throughout the season, manager Aaron Boone still maintains the support of the team owner and many New York fans. Following back-to-back series losses against the White Sox and the Red Sox, the Yankees’ recent win against the Mets in the opening game of their series provided a much-needed sense of relief for both the manager and the team.
