New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox: Gerrit Cole vs. Garrett Whitlock

The upcoming matchup features the New York Yankees (37-27), currently holding the third position in the AL East standings, as they prepare to face off against the Boston Red Sox (31-32), who are positioned fifth in the AL East. To commence a thrilling three-game series, the New York Yankees will be hosting the Boston Red Sox at their home stadium.

Friday’s highly anticipated matchup marks the inaugural encounter of the season between these two esteemed clubs.

Yankees to start with Gerrit Cole

In his recent outing on Saturday, the talented right-hander went six innings, conceding just one earned run on four hits against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Remarkably, Cole has now delivered an impressive streak of 13 consecutive starts, lasting five innings or more.

Furthermore, out of his 13 starts this season, Cole has managed to keep opponents from scoring an earned run in four appearances, achieving a 13-out-of-13 success rate in this regard. Notably, when Cole takes the mound and his team is designated as the moneyline favorite, they have secured a strong record of 11-2.

Speaking of Cole’s starts overall, his team boasts an impressive 11-2 record for the season. As for the total runs in his 13 starts, five of them have surpassed the set over.
