The Royals will Try to Snap Their Losing Streak Against The Yankees

The Yankees have begun to cool down after a historically hot month of June. New York had gone 5-10 in their previous 15 games prior to this series against the Royals. The Yankees will look to win this series against the Royals after going 0-4 against the competitive Astros and Mets.

Following the conclusion of the series on Sunday, New York will begin a 21-game homestand against teams .500 points or higher, with at least 10 games against AL East opponents.

Jordan Montgomery will take the mound for the Yankees on Sunday (3-3, 3.50 ERA). Montgomery has struggled recently. In his last seven starts, he allowed 21 earned runs in 38 innings pitched, for a 4.97 ERA. Montgomery will be hoping to get back on track after missing out on the Luis Castillo sweepstakes.

The Yankees’ offense is led by MVP candidate Aaron Judge, who leads Major League Baseball with 42 home runs and 91 RBIs.
