The Knicks are showing their support for their cross-town rivals, the New York Yankees, as they prepare for the World Series. With the Yankees ending their 15-year drought by securing their first American League pennant since 2009, several Knicks players have publicly expressed their excitement for the team’s success.

Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Yankees-Mets game earlier this season, is among those cheering them on. “I’m really excited for them,” Brunson said, as reported by Posting and Toasting. “I hope they bring it home. I’m a little upset that we don’t have time to go to any of the games, but I have 100 percent faith in them.”

Unfortunately, the Knicks’ busy schedule conflicts with the Yankees’ World Series games. They will be playing at home during Game 3 of the World Series and then traveling to Miami for a matchup against the Heat around the time the Yankees could be playing Game 5. However, that hasn’t dampened their enthusiasm for the Yankees’ run.

Josh Hart, another Knicks player with ties to Yankees history, also shared his excitement. Hart, the great-nephew of Yankees legend Elston Howard, said, “I’m hoping they win it. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to attend with us being on the road next week, but I’m super excited for them as players and for the city. I’ll be watching and supporting.”

Karl-Anthony Towns, a New York native and new addition to the Knicks, has been equally vocal about his admiration for the Yankees, particularly for fellow Dominican star Juan Soto. “Juan Soto, in my opinion, is one of the greatest Dominican talents we’ve ever seen in baseball,” Towns remarked. “Even before he joined the Yankees, I admired his discipline, power, and the way he controls the plate. He’s like the Ted Williams of our time.”

Though the Knicks won’t be able to attend the games in person, their support for the Yankees is unwavering. As the Yankees prepare to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series, Knicks players will be cheering them on from afar, hoping to see the Bronx Bombers bring home another title for the city. The Yankees kick off the series tomorrow, with the first pitch set for 8:08 p.m. ET on FOX.
