In the first game of the series against the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium., manager Aaron Boone made some changes to the Yankees’ lineup. Gleyber Torres found himself on the bench, while DJ LeMahieu, who had been struggling, took on the leadoff role and played second base.

For a moment, it looked like Aaron Boone’s adjustments seemed to pay off. LeMahieu kicked off the home half of the first inning with a solid single. Prior to that, he had been in a slump, going 9-for-62. He continued his resurgence with another single in his second at-bat, ending the game with a respectable 2-for-4 performance. However, the offense failed the Yankees despite a good start by Gerrit Cole.

Despite the Yankees’ loss on Friday, Aaron Boone remains optimistic and sees several positives to take away from the game. he conceded that although they only managed to score two runs, the team exhibited numerous quality at-bats throughout the lineup. However, Aaron Bone did acknowledge their missed opportunity to capitalize on a crucial moment and secure the significant hit they desperately needed.

“I actually thought we had decent at-bats up and down,” Aaron Boone told. “We just scattered our hits around and couldn’t string that big one together until got them.

Despite the Yankees mustering nine hits in the game, they struggled to produce the crucial hit at the right moment to drive in runs, as emphasized by the manager.

“For only scoring two runs, it felt like we had a lot of quality at-bats up and down, we just couldn’t get the big one,” Boone said.

Yankees fans react

Despite recording a total of nine hits, the Yankees were unable to secure the crucial hit at the opportune moment to drive in runs, as acknowledged by the team’s manager. His assessment didn’t go down well among the Yankees fans and they took to social media to slam Aaron Boone.

  1. Aaron Boone is a terrible coach. Never uses anyone to their potential. Pulls pitchers to quickly. The Yanks will never win a series with him at the helm….PITIFUL!!!!

    1. Aaron Boone is the worse manager in baseball. Has no baseball acumen. The Yankees will never win a World Series with him at the helm. And don’t use injuries as an excuse, like Michael Kay does defending this clown. Other managers with less talented players are winning. He depends on the long ball and doesn’t know how to manage using small ball tactics. Depends too much on analytics. So based on analytics and lack of championships, he should and needs to get fired.

  2. The only thing consistent with Boone is getting tossed from games, his inability to hold players accountable and inconsistent game moves.
This, however also boils down to management who doesn’t seem to care if they make bad splashes with trades/signings (look at Cashman’s record of pitching) and then cheapens up with non roster FA’s each year b/c well, there is something known as a budget. Thus, justifying the lack of proper vision.

  3. Boone refuses to play smallball. When he needs one run late in games he’s letting Glayber hit away. Don’t get it. When the home team has a great advantage in extras he’s hoping for a homer to tie the score in the 8th or ninth.

  4. I agree with so many of the fans regarding Aaron Boone’s managing skills. He does not know how to use the bullpen appropriately, and again, often pulls a pitcher far too soon because of one or two hits that occurred in an otherwise well pitched game. And finally, I am truly super annoyed at Aaron Boone, obviously constantly flashing the watch he wears for the Orin company and the few dollars he gets to advertise their product from the dugout!!!

    1. Aaron Boone isn’t the only problem. The injuries are killing this team! That said, I know Joe Girardi just turned down a bench coach position, but I bet he’d jump at Boones’s job!

      1. Yeah, I dunno. I’d prefer Joe, no doubt. But I don’t see Cashman swallowing his pride enough to reach out to Joe and I think Joe is too smart to take the job with Cashman still at the helm.

  5. I’m 83 and been a Yankees fan forever.
I think Boone needs to be replaced.
I watch some of the pitching changes he makes and scream out loud even when I’m alone. I think someone else would be a better choice. Go Yankees! So long Boone!

  6. Boone will never manage the Yankees to a World Championship. He’s too mercurial. It’s as if his decisions are made by throwing darts at a dartboard. Of course with Hal as principal owner and his undeserved trust in Cashman, I doubt there’s any manager who could get the Yanks another WSC. They’re like the Three Stooges of baseball.

  7. It’s obvious that Aaron Boone is a baseball guy but that doesn’t mean that he is Manager material. He can’t seem to make decisions on who plays where and his timing on pulling pitchers is interesting and that was true even before the deluge of injuries. On that note don’t the Yankees have conditioning coaches that emphasize stretching and flexibility? Huge muscular guys keep getting the same injuries. Yoga?

    1. Players traditionally need to know their roles day to day. Is DJ leadoff or cleanup, for example? Defining which relievers are best coming in with men on vs. starting an inning fresh is not Boone’s forte. A healthy Yankees team has the talent to propel itself with minimal “interference” and would make Boone look good, but we lose too many games based on bad lineups and relief timing and dig a deep hole. Boone is too much “one of the guys” and not the looked up to experienced leader, sorry to say. Subway trade….Boone for Showalter.

  8. This team is not worth watching. I have followed the Yankees since the days of Willie Randolph. Really, Josh Donaldson should be in the lineup. Donaldson can’t hit, Cabrera should of been left in the minors, Volpe doesn’t know how to take a quality at bat. Face it, this team is just not good offensively. What happened to quality at bates when Joe Torre was manager? Is every pitcher they face Cy Young? Where are all of the players that were traded for last year? Not one of them is on MLB roster. It is time for Cashman to go, along with his Manager, and for the organization to wake up to that we are just not that good. Why did it take so many years to get rid of Gary Sanchez? This team is not worth my time and certainly not worth my money.
