When Laura asks “Can I pet it?” Feigning misunderstanding, Jorge Posada responds that it’s not former Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte on his lap.
Of course, no one could ever confuse the two former teammates in real life despite the close bond they shared both on and off the field during their Yankees days.
When Laura repeats her request, this time Jose Posada plays it straight and grants permission to shower their furry friend with affection. Though clearly a pre-planned bit, Posada’s deadpan delivery shows impeccable comedic timing that hints at untapped potential should he ever pursue acting or comedy.
