The New York Yankees are reportedly interested in reacquiring former reliever Chad Green from the Toronto Blue Jays before the July 30 MLB trade deadline.

According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Yankees are looking to bring back Chad Green, who played for the team from 2016 to 2022.

Chad Green, 33, has been a key part of the Blue Jays’ bullpen this season. He recently pitched against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field on July 14.

As the trade deadline approaches, the New York Yankees are under pressure to make impactful moves. Rumors are swirling that the team may trade prospect Spencer Jones, but no official confirmation has been made.

Chad Green, a former Yankees reliever, could be a key target. Green debuted with the Yankees in 2016, transitioning from a starting pitcher to a reliever in 2017. His strong performance, including a standout 2017 season with a 1.83 ERA and 103 strikeouts in 69 innings, makes him a compelling option.

Chad Green’s familiarity with the Yankees’ organization and proven track record in high-leverage situations could be vital for a team looking to shore up its bullpen. His ability to strike out batters and handle pressure-packed moments, such as his crucial role in the 2017 AL Wild Card Game, underscores his value.

After undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2022, Chad Green signed a two-year deal with the Toronto Blue Jays in January 2023. Despite the injury, his recent return to action and Toronto’s decision to exercise their option on him indicate his readiness to contribute at a high level.

The Yankees, struggling to find consistency in their bullpen, could benefit significantly from Chad Green’s experience and skill set. His potential return to the Bronx would not only bolster their pitching staff but also bring a familiar and reliable presence back to the team. As the deadline nears, Green’s name remains one to watch in the Yankees’ trade considerations.

The article didn’t mention it, but this is YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF CASHMAN’S STUPIDITY!

The Yankees knew how great Chad Green was with the Yankees, but Dumb*** Cashman allowed him to sign a 2-year deal with the rival Blue Jays, rather than give a proven performer the same deal, while he recovered from his injury.

Why did the Blue Jays have the Brains to sign Chad Green, but the Yankees didn’t? Because Brainless Brian Cashman is DUMBER than the Blue Jays GM, and it’s not easy to be Dumber than him.

It’s mind boggling how many MORONIC trades Cashman has made, and how many NO BRAINER signings or trades he hasn’t made.

Sign Bryce Harper, a LEFTY POWER HITTER, who desperately wanted to be a Yankee? Only a Moron like Cashman would pass on that.

Trade for a couple of whack jobs & a-holes like Gallo & Donaldson? Of course, because only a Moron would do that.

Trade Monty, a beloved teammate & reliable pitcher for an injured CF who couldn’t hit Righties & insist that Monty wasn’t a playoff-caliber pitcher (LOL!)? Yea, only a Moron like Cashman would do that & be so Unbelievably WRONG about Monty, who ended up being a World Series HERO with the Texas Rangers.

Think that a Lazy, Stupid, Careless, defensively challenged Gleyber Torres could play SS at the MLB level, after he FAILED at that position in AA? Again, only a Moron like Cashman would think that. (I saw Torres play a AA 5 times, he SUCKED a SS!)

Jonathan Loáisiga gets injured as a SHORT Reliever more often than the Swallows Return to Capistrano, yet Brain-Damaged Cashman anointed him our LONG Reliever for 2024 in the BIZARRE & ASININE BELIEF that a guy who couldn’t stay healthy as a SHORT Reliever would somehow stay healthy pitching MORE INNINGS as a LONG Reliever! Come On! HOW F-ING STUPID IS THAT?!

Hold on to Torres for 6 years in the Insane Hope that he’ll STOP being a Lazy, Stupid, Careless, defensively challenged, erratic hitter, and only NOW consider trading him when he has Nearly Zero trade value? Yea, that’s what passes — like 3-inch kidney stone — as intelligence during Brainless Brian’s disastrous tenure as a GM.

And the above is just a VERY Short List of Brainless Brian Cashman’s Gross Stupidity & Incompetence!

Something else just occurred to me:

Cashman pissed away about $75 Million of Hal’s money on 2 USELESS “players” in Gallo & Donaldson, who the Rangers & Twins were Absolutely Thrilled to unload.

And LOSING $75 Million on 2 Incompetent a-holes didn’t get Cashman Fired?

“Holy Cow, Scooter!” (Miss you, Phil, Bill White, too!)

If you like pissing away $75 Million that much, Hal, you could give 150 needy Yankee fans $500,000 each & be forever remembered in their prayers, which seems a lot better than being screwed out of Millions by Brainless Brian’s Utter Stupidity.
