On Monday, the Yankees picked Eric Reyzelman, a 6-foot-2, 188-pound pitcher out of LSU, in the 5th round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
It was pick number 160, with a slot price of $340,500.
Reyzelman was ranked as the 323rd best player in the draft by Baseball America. Here’s an excerpt from the scouting report on him:
He’s a one-pitch pitcher who challenges batters to hit his 90+ fastball that reaches 99 mph. This year, he threw it 94% of the time. Even though hitters knew it was coming, they had a 39% swing-and-miss rate. … At some point in pro ball, he’ll need to find a second pitch…
