Judge Delivers Big Game for Yankees
Aaron Judge was homered twice in the first inning, and the New York Yankees shut down the Orioles On Tuesday, the team won its 20th victory in 23 games, 5-4.
The judges were only a few feet away from a three-home game. His initial bid was high off the wall, which had been brought back and built taller earlier this season. He settled for an RBI double, then singled in the 3rd and 5th innings to increase his major league-leading home run total to 14.
Judge added a single in the ninth inning for his 3rd four-hit game & first since 2019.
The Orioles, who’ve already lost 5 consecutive games and dropped their season-high to 5-3, managed to pick up a run over Baltimore Aroldis Chapman. Ryan McKenna had a two-out double bye in the 9th, and Chapman departed with the men in 2nd and 3rd. Cedric Mullins Popped on a foul his 9th saves in 9 attempts.
In more than 5 innings, Jameson Taillon (4-1) allowed three runs. Michael king After a leadoff double in the 6th, he retired all nine batters with 6 strikes before giving way to Chapman.
After Ureas’ homer in the 2nd inning tied the game at one, the judges started hitting parts of the ballpark which remain unchanged this year. In the 3rd inning, his homer to right center tied the game at 2-1. Following two Baltimore runs in the 4th, Judge tied the game in the center with a shot.
DJ LeMahieu came out with the bases loaded against Dillon Tate (0-2) & put the Yankees on the board with a groundball. Baltimore then managed to hold the 1st base open in front of the judge before leaving the field.
An error by Urias at shortstop with two outs in the seventh allowed New York to score an unearned run, bringing the score to 5-3.

Yankee pitcher Gerrit Cole (3-0) will face Orioles pitcher Jordan Lyles (2-3) on Wednesday night. Cole’s ERA in his last four starts is 1.42.
