Boone expressed confidence in Jasson Dominguez‘s progress, stating, “I think he’s inside two weeks, or in the middle of the month, to where he’ll start in games.” While initially starting as a designated hitter, Dominguez has been actively participating in batting practices and defensive drills, indicating his readiness to return to action.

Despite a cautious approach to his recovery, Jasson Dominguez’s timeline remains consistent with expectations, with rehab games slated to begin in May. A potential return to the Yankees by July, likely after the All-Star break, is within reach.

Dominguez’s brief stint in September 2023 left a lasting impression, showcasing his power with four home runs and an impressive .677 slugging percentage. His debut, including a memorable home run off Justin Verlander, ignited comparisons to baseball legends like Mike Trout and Mickey Mantle.

Burdi shifts to Triple-A for continued recovery

On the same day, the Yankees’ prospect Oswald Peraza prepares for a rehab assignment, while Burdi, who is dealing with a hip injury, has been transferred to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to continue his rehab. Burdi initially began his rehab stint at Double-A Somerset but will now have the chance to pitch at the Triple-A level before his eventual reinstatement, expected to occur within the next week or so.

As Dominguez’s rehabilitation progresses, anticipation builds for his return to the Yankees’ lineup, offering a glimpse of his potential to become a superstar in the making.

If Dominguez behind his rehab like Boone said in two weeks time, he is only 3 weeks ahead of what I’ve been saying from the beginning, I had it at just about June 15. This would also be 8 months after the surgery. Stanton needs more HRs like tonight to not be a potential roster casualty. Personally, I think Dominguez gets optioned out to AAA when the rehab assignment is up, barring an injury.
