On Wednesday night, the New York Yankees activated Jasson Dominguez, who was finished with his rehabilitation assignment, deactivated him from the 60-day injured list then authorized the player to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. While the good luck for Jasson Dominguez was the leaders made another declaration, saying, in the corresponding list, Jon Berti had been transferred to the 60-day injured list.

It was just hours later the previous announcement that Aaron Boone, the Yankees’ manager, made a statement that he is convinced Jasson Dominguez will be something big and said that he will absolutely be wearing a uniform in 2024.

“We know he’s going to be a big part of this. I feel like he knows he’s destined for great things in this game. Don’t worry about things that are out of your control; play ball and do your thing. I’m confident he will,” Aaron Boone said in a pre-game interview ahead of the New York Yankees’ match against the Kansas City Royals.

Why did the Yankees activate Jasson Dominguez?

As per recent reports, the Yankees were cautious about activating him soon. However, things had changed because Jasson Dominguez quickly show progress on the pitch. Thus, the team started seeing his potential back as he began to play in the minors, so the buzz surrounding his activation was only a matter of time.

And so, the Bronx Bombers elected to send him to Triple-A after Jasson Dominguez had completed his rehabilitation assignment

As the Yankees seem to believe that Jasson Dominguez may have something significant to show in the majors and have promoted him to that team every game he played this may only be a minor consideration in the long run. He will also be at risk of not getting paid if he becomes a free agent after 2027, the time when he could have accumulated either 4 or 5 years of major league service. Tommy John surgery, which kept Jasson Dominguez out of the game last year, has already been forgotten for the 19-year-old after his successful rehab outings. His fast track to the majors comes with significant achievements in Low-A (0.368/.415/.658 and six home runs). In the majors, for the year 2023, he has been warming a place with a .258/.303/.677 on his slash line.

In fact, if Jasson Dominguez can even come close to performing on this level, he will probably be the first instrance in case of outfield injuries for the Yankees. The victory star team whose top 3 designated outfield players are fully determined with Giancarlo Stanton hitting most could face a completely different and significant situation if one of those players is not fit.

The Yankees ever run the risk that Jasson Dominguez could count on them to take their game to a higher level and thereby, force a swap operation that was not in their original plan.
