TAMPA, Fla. — The wait is nearly over. Grapefruit League baseball returns Friday when the Yankees travel to Sarasota to face the Baltimore Orioles in the first exhibition game of 2026. The home opener at George M. Steinbrenner Field follows Saturday against the Detroit Tigers.
But if you are not making the trip to Florida, the next question is the one every fan wants answered: where can you actually watch these games? The answer depends on the day. Some air on YES Network. Others stream exclusively on the Gotham Sports App. A few will not be broadcast at all.
Here is the full breakdown of every Yankees spring training game, including the broadcast platform for each, so you do not miss a single pitch.
YES Network carries 12 games, Gotham streams 14 more
The YES Network announced Wednesday that it will broadcast 12 Yankees exhibition games during the 2026 spring training schedule. That number includes the March 21 Spring Breakout contest between Yankees and Braves prospects.
An additional 14 games will stream exclusively on the Gotham Sports App. Every game that airs on YES will also be available through the app, giving Gotham subscribers access to all 26 broadcast games this spring.
That still leaves a handful of games without a broadcast home. The March 7 road trip to West Palm Beach against the Nationals, the March 8 Subway Series game at Port St. Lucie against the Mets and the March 12 trip to Lakeland to face the Tigers will not air on any platform. The two late-March exhibition games in Mesa, Arizona against the Cubs also do not have confirmed broadcast plans.
Friday’s Grapefruit League opener in Sarasota will stream only on the Gotham Sports App at 1:05 p.m. ET, with pitching prospect Elmer Rodriguez on the mound. Saturday’s home opener against Detroit airs on YES Network at 1:05 p.m., with flamethrower Carlos Lagrange getting the start.

Games Yankees fans should circle on the calendar
The Yankees play 31 Grapefruit League games over five weeks, plus two crossover exhibitions in Arizona. Several matchups stand out.
The Subway Series gets an early start on Feb. 22 when the Mets visit Steinbrenner Field. The Yankees travel to Port St. Lucie on March 8 for the return game. All four AL East rivals appear on the schedule. The Blue Jays, who eliminated the Yankees in last year’s ALDS, visit twice in addition to two games in Dunedin. The Red Sox host the Yankees on March 4 at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers before coming to Tampa on March 18.
On March 3, the Yankees host Team Panama in a World Baseball Classic exhibition game. Several Yankees players, including Team USA captain Aaron Judge and closer David Bednar, will depart for WBC duty around that time. Team USA opens play on March 6 in Houston.
The Grapefruit League schedule wraps March 22 against the Phillies. After that, the Yankees head to Mesa, Arizona for two exhibition games against the Cubs on March 23 and 24. It marks the franchise’s first spring training trip to Arizona since 1951. Then it is straight to San Francisco for the standalone Opening Night game against the Giants on March 25 at 8:05 p.m. ET. The Bronx home opener is set for April 3 at 1:35 p.m. against the Marlins.
