During a rain delay in the fifth and deciding game of the American League Division Series (ALDS), Cleveland Guardians’ Myles Straw tried to mend his relationship with the Yankees’ fans. He threw a football to the stand behind the dugout at Yankee Stadium on Monday. The fans too played with him.
In April, some rowdy Yankees fans threw trash at Myles Straw after the outfielder climbed over the wall and argued with fans to defend teammate Steven Kwan.
After what happened, Myles Straw said he didn’t like Yankees fans and called the Bronx fans “classless” and “the worst fan base.”
Before the start of the ALDS series, Straw admitted that the incident had resulted in death threats directed toward him.
It would appear that Straw is now willing to engage in some “classless” fan behavior by throwing a football around with them.
The spontaneous game of catch was eventually put to an end by security, but it would appear that Myles Straw has “climbed down” from the metaphorical wall.
Shouldn’t the Guardians restrain Myles Straw?
