New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone recently disclosed that star outfielder Aaron Judge received a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection for his sprained right toe. In addition to the toe injury, Boone revealed that another ligament issue has been troubling Judge. The slugger was placed on the 10-day injured list on June 7, retroactive to June 4, and his return date remains uncertain, raising concerns about a potential extended absence extending into July.

Uncertain timetable and prolonged absence

Aaron Judge's no-doubter solo home run extends the lead over the White Sox 7-4 in the top of the seventh

Afterward, in an unfortunate turn of events for the New York Yankees and their fans, Aaron Judge, the team’s formidable slugger, encountered another setback in his battle with injuries. Manager Aaron Boone confirmed that Judge recently received a PRP injection for his sprained right toe, further complicating his recovery process.

During the announcement, Boone also revealed that Judge is contending with a separate ligament issue beyond the initial toe sprain. This revelation raises concerns about the overall severity of Judge’s injuries and the potential impact on his return to the Yankees’ lineup.

Judge was placed on the 10-day injured list on June 7, with the designation retroactively applied to June 4. Unfortunately, there is no concrete timetable for his return to the field. The absence caused by these injuries is anticipated to extend well into July, significantly impacting the Yankees’ performance and offensive capabilities.

Implications for the New York Yankees

Aaron Judge’s absence from the Yankees’ lineup significantly blows the team’s aspirations for success this season. His power-hitting ability, exceptional fielding skills, and leadership qualities make him an invaluable asset to the team. Without Judge’s formidable presence, the Yankees will need to rely on other players to step up and fill the void left by their star outfielder.

Aaron Judge’s return timeline remains uncertain, leaving fans and teammates eagerly awaiting updates on his progress. The Yankees will indeed exercise caution and prioritize Judge’s long-term health, providing he is fully recovered before rushing him back into action.

While Judge’s injuries challenge the team, this adversity can also present an opportunity for other players to showcase their talents and contribute to the Yankees’ success. The team will need a collective effort from their roster to overcome this setback and maintain their competitiveness in the challenging American League East division.

Aaron Judge’s recent PRP injection for his sprained right toe and the revelation of an additional ligament issue provide a sobering update on his injury status. With no specific timetable for his return and a potentially prolonged absence, the Yankees face the challenge of compensating for losing their star outfielder. As the team navigates through this difficult period, their resilience and ability to adapt will be crucial in maintaining their pursuit of success in the 2023 season.

As much as I love having Aaron on the Yankees this shows why you don’t give long extended rich contracts to players who have an injury history. He probably won’t be healthy enough the last third of this contract. Yanks have a terrible track record with these things. Rodon, Elsberry, Montos, the list is huge of current and former players.

Judge is not a player what has injuries every season. He is worth every penny. Baseball is a form of entertainment, not a battle. Hence he is arguably the most entertaining player in the GAME!!!

I too love to have Judge in everyday lineup, but a small toe sprain doesn’t mean being another NO SHOW SMALL INJURY TERM OFF WORK!! Have him read THE MICK” and see how Mantle used to tape up both legs and ankles before every fricken game, why, because he knew the team needed him!! A SPRAINED TOE” are you kidding? MANTLE WOULD HAVE SHOOK THAT OFF IN A SECOND!! DiMaggio had heel bone spurs for years but kept playing!! Boone needs to kick some ass and paddle some asses ( STANTON & JUDGE) and make them play!! Huge large contracts don’t mean large vacations every other month!! These boys need to fricken “ MAN UP” SUCK IT UP AND PLAY BALL!!!!!🤬

Boomer, that is old school toughness. With all the millions in play nobody sees anything else it seems. Load management is ridiculous unless you are packing a truck! Having a work ethic like Mantle is old school toughness personified. But it is rarer than an Unicorn in today’s industry. I agree with you but we are in the minority.

The only player right now that represents the New York Yankees the way they’re supposed to be is Mr Cole himself you look back that guy reminds you of the players of the past he’s got guts you look at all these other albatrosses that you have signing judge to a big contract just cuz he hit some home runs and he was the best player for one year he didn’t bring any championship to New York since he’s been there why pay him all that money then you have Stanton your other big albatross oh yeah he can carry a team for maybe two or three weeks maybe if Lucky but he makes Shawn her seventy thousand dollars a game 30 something thousand dollars for every at bat next time he strikes out on three pitches there’s 30,000 the average person will make that in 6 months especially the Yankees fans give us a break let the little guys play for the big team they can steal bases they can get good good hits when they need them and they make the game interesting these other ones that you have are just terrible it’s a shame just thinking the Yankees of the past I don’t mean going back to mantle and Bear you go back to guidry and the rest of them they had heart they were true Yankees not these guys just a bunch of overpaid bums

I think Judge is very overrared. Why did they give him so much money and he goes on the injured list every year. No one is indispensable and the team is not the good with or without Judge. He is only one player you need nine to win a game.

I don’t blame Judge for accidents like this, but I’m sure he is still going to the gym lifting heavy weights so what’s the difference? Hey, maybe Stanton needed a spotter at the gym. 🥴🤨🥴
