Hours before the game scheduled for this Monday, the New York Yankees players seized the opportunity to witness the eclipse that graced NYC. MLB journalist Bryan Hoch captured striking images and videos, showcasing Gerrit Cole and Nestor Cortes donning protective eyewear as they observed the solar eclipse from the dugout.

As previously stated by Pinstripes Nation, the Yankees intended to host a grand celestial celebration, just as envisioned. The scene was one of anticipation and wonder as the players, usually focused on their game strategies, took a moment to marvel at the celestial phenomenon unfolding above them. With the sun partially obscured by the moon, casting an eerie yet captivating glow over the stadium, the Yankees players couldn’t help but be drawn to the spectacle.

For many of them, it was a rare chance to witness such an event firsthand, and they didn’t want to miss it. Despite their busy schedules and the imminent game, they found solace in the simple act of observing nature’s wonders, reminding themselves of the beauty that exists beyond the confines of the baseball diamond.

Yankees fans were not to be outshone. They formed lines outside Yankee Stadium, some arriving as early as four hours before the game, eager to witness the celestial spectacle firsthand. Armed with eclipse glasses and cameras, they eagerly awaited the moment when the moon would pass in front of the sun, casting its shadow over the city.

As the eclipse began, excitement rippled through the crowd. Cheers and exclamations filled the air as the sky darkened and the sun took on an otherworldly appearance. For many fans, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a moment they would cherish and remember for years to come.

Alongside them, other New York citizens expressed their excitement for the solar eclipse. Whether they were watching from their office windows, parks, or rooftops, everyone seemed captivated by the rare celestial event unfolding above them.

Solar eclipse sweeps over New York

At 3 p.m. EST, the much-anticipated solar eclipse made its appearance in New York City, as reported by The NY POST. This celestial event, watched by millions, traversed the Empire State, with cities like Buffalo and Syracuse experiencing totality. Although NYC wasn’t in the path of totality, New Yorkers could witness the eclipse starting around 2:51 p.m., with the sun expected to be about 90 percent covered by 3:25 p.m.

As the eclipse reached its peak, darkness descended over the city, casting everything into an eerie twilight. Streetlights flickered on, and the air grew cooler as the moon blocked out more and more of the sun’s light. Despite the hustle and bustle of city life, New Yorkers paused to witness this rare moment of celestial beauty.
