Mike Francesa can’t stop thinking about how badly the New York Yankees did in the American League Championship Series. He is again out draggers drawn against the Yankees’ team brass.
The former WFAN host went back to Twitter on Thursday to keep complaining. This time Mike Francesa targeted the Yankees Director of Mental Conditioning Chad Bohling.
Mike Francesa started by talking about how he felt about the news that Bohling sent players a hype video of the Boston Red Sox beating the New York Yankees in the 2004 ALCS to get them ready for Game 4 against the Houston Astros.
It was a shame that the Yanks used the Red Sox’s comeback as motivation. “Makes me sick,” Jeter said when asked about the desperate attempt by the Yankees to motivate their players.
Mike Francesa was talking about what Derek Jeter said about the hype video at the 26th annual Turn 2 Foundation gala on Wednesday. Jeter was asked about the video while he was there, and he talked about it. Brendan Kuty of NJ Advance Media quoted him telling:
“I don’t know the context of it. I still don’t like to talk about it myself. Makes me sick to this day thinking about it. … I’m not as close to the organization as I was. Like I said, I don’t know the context. I’d have to get a little more information. It still makes me sick to this day.”
Mike Francesa then criticized the whole Yankees organization as a whole, saying, “The Yankees stopped acting like Yankees years ago and looked like “vacant uniforms.”
Hal Steinbrenner, the owner of the Yankees, said the manager Aaron Boone will come back in 2023, but he hasn’t decided what will happen to general manager Brian Cashman, whose contract ends this year.
It’s not a big surprise that Mike Francesa would keep going after the Yankees. Take a look at what he said on his BetRivers podcast after Sunday’s loss in Game 4:
“The Yankees have become masters of the excuse. Nobody cares. Nobody cares. Get the result. That’s it. They need changes. They need wholesale changes. … I don’t think the Yankees are going in the right direction. They need a new voice. … This team isn’t missing something. It’s missing a whole lot.”
Earlier Mike Francesa demanded that the owner must sack general manager Brian Cashman to start the overhaul of the Yankees.
