In 2016, Derek Jeter and his wife, Hannah Davis Jeter, had a wedding that they described as “very small.” Even though it was just a small gathering, they still had an awesome performance by a super-famous music group.

The former New York Yankees player, who is 49 years old, and the Sports Illustrated cover model, who is 33, shared with PEOPLE magazine some of their favorite moments from their wedding. One special memory, according to them, was when the famous group Boyz II Men performed and sang some of their biggest songs.

According to Derek Jeter, having Boyz II Men perform at their wedding was pretty good. Hannah added that the R&B group is one of their favorites. Derek then stated that it had been a highlight.

Derek Jeter’s marriage festivity

They got married on July 9, 2016, at the Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California. Hannah explained that it was a whole weekend of festivity. According to her, they danced every night.

Derek Jeter thinks that the small number of guests might have been what made the night so special. The five-time World Series champion said that could have been the key.

Hannah concurred and mentioned that what she really enjoyed about their wedding was that it wasn’t a meet-and-greet. She added that they didn’t have to go around meeting many people. They just had their very close friends there, and they had a lot of fun.

Derek Jeter and Hannah marked their seventh wedding anniversary in July. Before they got married, they were a couple for three years. However, they didn’t make their first public appearance together until May 2015, at the Met Gala.

In November 2015, which was six months later, they shared their engagement news. Derek Jeter called Hannah his “fiancée” in a blog post on his website to make the announcement.

The happy family

Following their wedding in the summer, in February 2017, the recently married couple revealed through The Players’ Tribune that they were going to have a baby girl named Bella Raine. After Bella, who is now 6 years old, Derek Jeter and Hannah have welcomed three more children into their family.

Their second child, a daughter named Story Grey, was born on January 31, 2019. Then, on December 2, 2021, they welcomed another daughter named River Rose.

Just recently, the couple shared exciting news about their latest family member, who is their first son, Kaius Green. He was born on May 5, 2023.

Before their son was born, Derek Jeter spoke to PEOPLE at the 25th annual Turn 2 Foundation dinner in 2021, saying that his daughters are the absolute best.

He mentioned that before having kids, people often say, “Wait until you have your own”, and he found it to be true.

The couple spoke to PEOPLE earlier this month about how different it is to have a son among three daughters. Derek Jeter mentioned that it feels different for him because he has a younger sister, and they already have three girls, whereas Hannah has a brother. Derek Jeter also said that having a boy feels a bit different for him, but he’s been doing great so far.
