Aroldis Chapman left off of ALDS roster

Aroldis Chapman won’t be on the New York Yankees’ roster for the American League Division Series, manager Aaron Boone announced on Sunday.

Boone claimed Chapman was ordered home to Miami for the upcoming ALDS series against the Cleveland Guardians after skipping a pre-series workout. According to MLB.com, Boone claimed Chapman didn’t have a “usable justification” for missing the exercises.

He effectively eliminated himself from consideration at least in this instance “Brian Cashman, the general manager of the Yankees, told reporters. “He took the decision to stay home, despite the fact that everyone who is a part of our network has been working out here since Friday. I punished him. Obviously, we spoke to one another. He received a fine from me for missing a required workout.

Aaron Boone, post work out had a conversation with Aroldis

“We made the decision just to tell him to stay home, telling him just stand down and just stay home. You gotta be all in this time of year. It’s disappointing.”
