On Wednesday, July 5, during the game, Pete Stendel was struck in the head by a baseball when Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson attempted to throw the ball to first base. Stendel, positioned near the Yankees dugout with his camera, immediately fell to the ground, clutching his face. The game was paused for approximately 10 minutes to ensure Stendel’s well-being.
