The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox were in the middle of the third inning at Yankee Stadium when a sudden downpour interrupted their Friday night showdown.
Yankees-Red Sox clash paused by rain
As the rain began, the grounds crew quickly covered the field with the tarp, halting the game in the bottom of the third inning with no outs and no men on base for the Yankees.
It’s currently uncertain when play will resume, but the broadcast has reported that heavy rain is expected to last around 40 minutes.
