A sprawling Tampa estate constructed for legendary New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada has been listed for sale. Located within the exclusive Avila Golf and Country Club community, the expansive property at 16814 Avila Blvd. was built by Windstar Homes and finished in 2003 for erstwhile New York Yankees player and his wife Laura.
The 8,970-square-foot residence of Jorge Posada contains six bedrooms and nine bathrooms across two floors. It boasts Italian porcelain counters, a home theater, smart home technology, and a massive resort-style pool featuring a grotto, jacuzzi, and two water slides.
Jorge Posada is just one of the many Yankees who have had residences in Tampa Bay over the years. Notable names such as Carlos Rodon, Derek Jeter, the Steinbrenners, Nick Swisher, Mark Melancon, and Gary Sheffield, have also made their homes in this region.
According to property records, Jorge Posada sold the residence in 2011 for $4.5 million. Presently, the house is listed for $5.95 million, with Jose Cardenas of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty serving as the listing agent.
Posada, who enjoyed a 17-season career with the Yankees before retiring in 2011, concluded his career with impressive stats, including 275 home runs and 1,065 RBIs. He was a five-time All-Star and a four-time World Series champion.
